About The Workshop

The Basic Orientation Workshop on Safeguarding of Vulnerable Persons (BOWS) is a formation and training program for clergy, religious, and lay persons that provides the essential knowledge and skills for the work of safeguarding.

CSI has created a new version of the BOWS to adapt to the sudden changes brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, including the significant constraints now present in the daily life of both its participants and facilitators. Despite this massive global shift, the objectives of the BOWS remain the same:

- To orient the participants on the issues of child sexual abuse (CSA) and safeguarding and protection of minors, particularly principles and practices necessary to live out safeguarding on the personal, community, and ministry levels

- To enable the participants to develop and gain a sense of ownership of their diocesan safeguarding and child protection policy
